One of the most dynamic features of the CareerEdge initiative is its designation as one of only 31 collaboratives across America that is funded by the National Fund for Workforce Solutions, a partnership unprecedented in scope. Nearly 300 funders are investing $30 million in local communities to help overhaul local and regional workforce systems. The National Fund was created to meet the needs of a rapidly changing economy. Where traditionaly jobs are disappearing, knowledge-based jobs are taking their place, and nearly 80 million Americans lack the skills needed to secure their place in the new economic reality.
CareerEdge was the first organization in the Southeastern United States to be designated as an investment site of the National Fund, which gives CareerEdge the unique potential to move our region into the new economic reality.
