Manufacturing Sector in 2012

December 27th, 2011 9:27am

CareerEdge is starting off 2012 with a new venture in the manufacturing sector in the Bradenton/Sarasota region.

In their first year CareerEdge served over 1,400 members of our community with training, credentialing, job placement, promotions and pay increases. To support these efforts they established a partnership in the healthcare sector, where job growth had been identified. A recent labor market analysis showcased manufacturing as the next growing sector. However, there is a gap of talent in our region and employers have been challenged in finding the right workforce that is prepared for the demands of some of the technical and operations positions within various companies. CareerEdge will fill these voids and support manufacturing employers by providing funding to train their current employees so that a more efficient and cutting-edge workforce can be developed.

An RFP will be released to employers seeking funding by CareerEdge. The RFP will be available January 9th and can be accessed on their website: www.careeredgefunders.org. CareerEdge will discuss this opportunity at the January 18th SAMA meeting and will host an info session for all interested parties on January 19th so that the details and deliverables of the RFP can be discussed in an open forum.  All proposals will be due February 10th.
